Sister Clara's Letters (Harold Warp Pioneer Villag
Category: History: U.S.: Nebraska
Author: Harold Warp, compiler
Copyright/published Year: 1979 by The Village
Binding: paperback
Mr. Warp's sister Clara and her widely known auctioneer husband,
Col. T.C. Jensen, offered to help Mr. Warp put together his
Pioneer Village. This they did lovingly, superbly and devotedly,
for over 12 years, starting in 1950. They picked up items in all
parts of the country, that had been acquired by Harold Warp. They
acquired many of the more common items for Mr. Warp themselves.
They located and purchased many items for Mr. Warp that he had
asked them to "go try to get." It was not unusual for them to
make several trips to try and find or try to buy one particular
item.
Clara would write her brother Harold nearly every day and sometimes twice a day, telling of their experiences, successes, joys and failures in trying to locate and, or to acquire the needed items. Luckily Mr. Warp had saved the letters from his sister Clara.Only those portions of her daily letters that pertained to acquisition or restoration of items, construction or refurbishing of the Buildings were gleaned and recorded herein.
